| For: | Military Zone II is one of the seven military zones of the People's Army of Vietnam protecting 9 North-West provinces. Military Zone II was established on 19.10.1946 and has 10 gold tradition words "Loyalty - Self-reliance - Unity - Courage - Victory". | |||
| Design: | Gold five-pointed star breast badge, 44mm across with suspension ribbon. | |||
| Obverse: | on a gold five-pointed star with three small points in between, a central round disk with blue background and the images of a temple, a banyan tree (symbolize the North countryside), and the image of soldiers waving a flag on the top of a vault (symbolizes the Dien Bien Phu victory), above is the sun on the two flags of Vietnam and the Party; surrounded by a red ring with the gold inscription "Trung Thành - Tự Lực - Đoàn Kết - Anh Dũng - Chiến Thắng" (Loyalty - Self-reliance - Unity - Courage - Victory). | |||
