Huân Chương Lao Động |
The Labor Order is the fifth highest order of the SRV. It is awarded to individuals, collectives and foreigners. (if anyone has a recipient list or info on the number of awards, please let me know at rdavemail-medals@yahoo.com)
It was established in 1950 by the DRV, and was maintained with the SRV. Formalizing the regulations for all SRV awards was done in 2003. Redesign for all SRV awards was done in 2006. Another redesign for all SRV awards was done in 2014. (see regulation extracts here)

Obverse: | in the center a gold five pointed star on a red disc, with a toothed gear on the right and a sheaf of rice on the left, and an open book below on foliage, with a red ribbon below with the inscription "VIỆT NAM", and on the top inscribed "HUÂN CHƯƠNG LAO ĐỘNG", and around the border and on part of the bottom dark blue enamel; | |||
Reverse: | plain, sometimes with serial number of the medal; | |||
Suspension: | eyelet at top, with ribbon ring to pentagonal frame (presumably initially full pentagonal metal plate, and later lower bar with upper pinback); late version with golden pentagonal metal plate with pinback; | |||
Ribbon: | 25mm - red 3mm, blue 3mm, red 13mm, blue 3mm, red 3mm; pentagonal; |

The order was designed by artist Bùi Trang Chước.
